Draft for legal review — permission to use the MGH™ mark begins only once your licence agreement is signed. Last updated 29 October 2026.
Parties and grant of licence
The MGH™ quality standard and mark are owned by Family Foods and Healthcare. A licence is granted only after a written agreement is signed. It is a non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to use the supplied mark on the products, packaging and trade materials expressly approved in that agreement. It does not transfer ownership of the mark or permit sublicensing.
Eligible honey and approved products
Honey must be supplied through our company to ensure full traceability and standard controls, and released against the MGH™ Certified standard. The licence does not cover honey bought elsewhere, unapproved products or replacement ingredients. The approved products and uses must be recorded in the signed agreement; any additional use needs written approval.
Annual fee and payment
The annual licence charge is £1,500. The licence covers a 12-month period from the start date recorded in the signed agreement. Payment is required before use of the mark begins. Honey purchases and other services are charged separately. Payment dates and any applicable tax treatment will be stated in the agreement and invoice.
Artwork and packaging approval
Use only the official MGH™ artwork supplied by us and follow our artwork guidelines. Do not change the mark’s colour, shape or wording. Submit packaging and any trade materials displaying the mark for written approval before printing or publication. Changes to approved artwork, formulation or product descriptions require fresh approval.
Claims and regulatory responsibility
The mark identifies honey meeting our quality standard; it is not government approval, medical-device clearance or a guarantee of a finished product’s safety, sterility or clinical suitability. No on-pack antimicrobial claims may be made. The licensee remains responsible for lawful labelling, finished-product testing, any required sterilisation, regulatory compliance and all claims made about its products.
Traceability and quality concerns
Keep records connecting licensed products to the honey batches supplied through our company, and provide relevant evidence on request to verify compliant use of the mark. Tell us promptly about suspected misuse, quality complaints, recalls or changes that could affect approved products. Cooperate with any investigation and corrective action relating to the licensed mark or supplied honey.
Partner listing and knowledge access
During an active licence, your company logo may be included on the MGH website and your authorised team gains access to the knowledge bank and data files made available for licensed products. You must have permission to supply your company logo for this listing. Access does not transfer ownership of our materials or permit their redistribution, publication or sharing outside your authorised team without written permission. Confidential internal records and third-party restricted materials are not included.
Exclusive events
Active licensees can receive invitations to exclusive events, including opportunities to meet our beekeepers. Event dates, locations and attendance arrangements will be communicated with each invitation; no fixed event schedule is guaranteed.
Renewal, suspension and termination
Renewal requires written agreement and payment of the applicable annual fee; these draft terms do not authorise automatic charging. We may suspend permission to use the mark if fees are unpaid, honey is sourced outside the approved supply arrangement, artwork is used without approval or other licence conditions are breached. Notice, any opportunity to remedy a breach and termination arrangements will be specified in the signed agreement.
When the licence ends
Stop making new use of the mark and remove it from ongoing promotional materials when the licence expires or is terminated. Knowledge-bank access and the partner listing end with the licence. Any treatment of existing marked packaging or stock, including a possible sell-off period, must be agreed in writing; there is no automatic right to continue using the mark.
Final agreement and disputes
These are draft commercial terms, not a grant of permission or a signed licence. The final agreement must identify the contracting parties, approved uses, start date, payment terms, notices, liability provisions, governing law and dispute arrangements. It should be legally reviewed before either party signs. Enquiring about a licence or buying honey alone does not authorise use of the mark.
