About
An independent, educational reference on medical grade honey.
MedicalGradeHoney.com exists to make the peer-reviewed evidence, regulatory standards and manufacturer technical files around medical grade honey easier to find, read and compare — in one place, in plain English.
What this site is
An independent reference, not a brand or store.
This is an independent educational reference. Every page is built by reading public sources — peer-reviewed journal articles (PubMed, Cochrane), regulator documents (FDA 510(k), EU MDR, TGA, MPI), ISO standards, and manufacturer instructions-for-use — and summarising what they say in language a non-specialist can follow.
We are not affiliated with any honey brand, manufacturer or distributor. We do not sell honey or honey-based wound products. Pages name brands, trials and regulatory references for educational and comparative purposes only; inclusion is not endorsement and exclusion is not criticism.
What this site is not
Not medical advice, not authored by clinicians.
Not medical advice. Nothing on this site is a substitute for advice from a qualified clinician. If you are a patient, talk to your GP, pharmacist or wound-care specialist. If you are a clinician, treat this site as a starting point for further research — not as a prescribing reference. See the full medical disclaimer.
Not authored by clinicians. The site is run by an independent editor, not by doctors, nurses, pharmacists or microbiologists. We do not present ourselves as subject-matter experts. The value we offer is curation and synthesis of published sources — not personal clinical experience.
Not a primary source. Where it matters, we link out to the underlying paper, regulator document or standard so you can read it yourself. If a page makes a factual claim without a reference, treat it as background and verify against a primary source before relying on it.
How we work
Our editorial process.
Sourced from public literature
Content is built from peer-reviewed journals, Cochrane reviews, regulatory filings, ISO standards and manufacturer technical files. Selected references are listed at the bottom of substantive pages.
Plain-English summaries
We translate dense regulatory and chemistry language into something a non-specialist reader can follow, then link back to the original so anyone can verify the summary.
Reviewed and dated
Evergreen pages carry a 'Last reviewed' timestamp. When the underlying literature, a recall or a standard changes, we revise the page and bump the date.
No paid placements
We do not accept payment from honey brands, manufacturers or distributors in exchange for editorial coverage, ranking or recommendation.
Corrections welcome
If you spot an inaccuracy — a misread paper, an out-of-date standard, a withdrawn product — get in touch and we'll correct the page and credit the correction.
Off-label content is flagged
Where an application is off-label or investigational in a given jurisdiction, we say so. Off-label discussion is for awareness; treatment decisions stay with the responsible clinician.
